Born with arms and ears translocated on his body, Rob had a hard time growing up for social reasons (he had no physical disability). His doctors talked about a hox gene mutation but practically his arms were much connected to his brain with many more connections and with considerably less delay due to their location. This allowed Rob, or Mind Bender as he became to be known, to move his arms with seemingly super-human speed (for example, he could catch arrows easily).
