Dream
I look up and see seven samurai running at me, with their swords held high above their heads. I take a sip of Pepsi and casually pick up my sword. I defeat them all with one hand, while holding the soda in the other. My sword starts pulsing, making a loud beeping noise.
I wake up and shut the alarm clock off. I get up, get dressed for work and make my way downstairs. As I walk into the kitchen, I smell freshly brewed coffee. Jamie sitting at the table looking at her cell phone and looks over at me, "Mornin' sleepy head." She starts pouring me a cup and unnecessarily asks, "Want a cup?"
"Sure, thank you." I take a sip and feel like I'm starting to turn on. "I had the weirdest dream."
Jamie responds "Hmm," but stays engrossed with her phone. She looks up at me, "I'm going to stop at TJs on the way home. Do you need anything?"
"Nah, I'm good I think. We're doing fajitas tonight?"
"Yup, on it."
"Oh, you know what would be fun. I think I'll stop and get some Pepsi on the way home. That sounds like it would go well."
Jamie looked at me, "Umm, ok. Well, I've got to get going." She kissed me, put her coffee mug in the dishwasher, said a "Have a good night," and walked out.
I went through my day on autopilot. I was eating my packed sandwich in the lunchroom at work, when I overheard two of my co-workers talking about samurai. That's a weird coincidence. I don't think I've even thought about samurai in the last ten years. Then it happened again. At our daily stand-up meeting, my boss was sipping on a Pepsi. I guess you just notice things when you're thinking about them. Didn't Freud or Jung call it synchronicity or something?
On the way home, I stopped at the grocery store to grab a 6 pack of Pepsi. On the way out, I noticed that the Redbox had "Seven Samurai" up. Hmm. I guess it seems to fit the theme of the evening. I try to rent the movie but it's sold out of this machine. Oh well.

"Sir, the first day's performance is in. Our engineers said that the dream manipulator worked nominally for the night tested. The test market saw an overall sales increase of 30% in the first day. The increased sales primarily came from the canned products, which saw an 75% sales increase. Sales of bottles were only raised 5%. Sales dropped on the second and third nights. We should have syrup sales early next week."
"And what about the movie integration?"
"We worked with Redbox to stock "Seven Samurai". Redbox had an expected rental rate of 1 movie per 3 boxes. They reported a complete sell-out."
"Excellent, Hollywood is going to love this."
